Infamous O.J. Simpson houseguest surfaces outside Rob Reiner murder scene
In a surreal collision of Hollywood’s most infamous true-crime eras, Kato Kaelin was spotted outside the Brentwood estate where legendary director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found brutally murdered last week.
Kaelin, who became a household name as the shaggy-haired houseguest during the 1995 O.J. Simpson trial, was seen standing in front of the Reiner’s gate Monday — near the same tree-lined streets that once served as the backdrop for the trial of the century.

“I know the situation and it’s just horrific,” Kaelin told The Post. “It’s Brentwood, there’s a guest house involved… As soon as this crime was committed, I heard in the news just ‘Brentwood’ and ‘crime’ and obviously I perked up. It was the most horrific thing with Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner being killed.”

“This again was a media circus like it was in Rockingham 30 years ago,” he said. “It’s just a horrible, horrible situation that parents who raise someone from birth turned their back and murdered their parents… There’s not much to say except God bless the Reiners.”

The director of “When Harry Met Sally” and “The Princess Bride” was found dead alongside his wife on December 14. Authorities allege the couple was stabbed to death with a knife. The couple’s son, Nick Reiner, has since been charged with two counts of first-degree murder with special circumstances.
The presence of Kaelin has only heightened the media swarm surrounding the Brentwood property. For many, his face is a reminder of the 1994 murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, which occurred just miles from the Reiner residence.
For now, the quiet streets of Brentwood are once again filled with news vans, yellow tape, and faces from the past — reminding the world that in this corner of Los Angeles, the spotlight never truly fades.
