HGTV viewers are expressing outrage after the network unexpectedly canceled four popular shows within a single week. Fans took to social media to share their disappointment and confusion, questioning the reasons behind the sudden decisions and wondering what this means for the future of their favorite home renovation programs.

The stars of ‘Farmhouse Fixer,’ ‘Married to Real Estate’, ‘Izzy Does It’ and ‘Bargain Block’ say their shows have all been canceled

HGTV has canceled four fan-favorite shows in a week, according to their stars, who shared the news on Instagram.

Since June 23, some of the network’s biggest names have spoken out to say that HGTV has decided to end their series. Jonathan Knight’s Farmhouse Fixer, Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson’s Married to Real Estate, Izzy Battres’s Izzy Does It and Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas’s Bargain Block are the shows that have allegedly been axed so far. HGTV has not responded to PEOPLE’s requests for comment.

Fans were just as shocked as the talent by the wave and have been expressing confusion, outrage and heartbreak online.

The fan community on Reddit’s r/HGTV has lit up in the last several days. “What is left on HGTV after all these cancellations?” one commenter asked.

Another wrote, “At this point they’ve canceled so many shows that I’m very interested to know exactly what the plan is. I have to assume they’ve got things in mind to replace these and not just more house hunters.”

A third made light of the news, asking, “Have we tried unplugging HGTV and plugging it back in?”

Famous fans and friends also weighed in on the stars’ Instagram posts

Knight’s NKOTB bandmate Donnie Wahlberg wrote in his comments, “On to the next one! You got this. We are all ready for what you do next!”

“I am devastated. Farmhouse Fixer was one of my favorites. They will come to realize their mistake,” wrote another follower.

Another added simply, “@HGTV This sucks!”

On Sherrod and Jackson’s post another HGTV alum, Design Star’s Lauren Makk, weighed in: “We are watching you no matter what! You two continue to inspire and we don’t need any networks to see that!” she commented.

Rock the Block host Ty Pennington, expressed his dismay: “You know, in general I thought I had decent gauge about what TV executives wanted and the last few years have completely shattered that. Seriously shocked to hear this!,” he wrote.

One fan summed up many of the comments writing, “I am extremely disappointed in HGTV!!! You and Mike are such an inspiration and example of black excellence, love and family!!”

Battres had to break the news to a fan who asked about a premiere date for season 2 of his show in his own comments, writing “Unfortunately no Season 2.” Fans responded expressing their support for him and disappointment in the decision, with one writing, “That’s awful!! Izzy, I really enjoyed your show!! HGTV is becoming more and more unappealing to me!! Maybe they will come to their senses and reconsider!!”

While all the hosts expressed their gratitude to the fans when sharing the news, several expressed bewilderment at the decision.

Knight said on Wednesday, June 25, that he learned the news his show was not renewed after three seasons while performing with New Kids on the Block in Las Vegas and was “still processing the reasons.”

Sherrod and Jackson say they were “met with unexpected news” that their show would end after returning from a family vacation in Europe in a post shared Tuesday, June 24.

Some stars also hinted at behind the scenes tension with HGTV and unpleasant experiences while making their shows.

Sherrod and Jackson noted they have “more to say” about the situation that they’ll “share soon” and Jackson added in the comments, “God makes no mistakes. However, people and opinions do. We’ll discuss that on a later date though.”

Bynum’s Instagram post was more openly critical. “The last six months have been a pretty wild journey. Our entire business and lives have been put through the ringer at the hands of a giant corporation, yet we persist lol,” he wrote. He went on to say that “Tv is full of a lot of great people but it’s also full of some of the worst people I’ve ever encountered.”
